Some time later a messenger arrived at Mrs. Stowe's door with a small package. Inside were a black necktie and a brief note: "Here is a necktie. Take it out and look at it. I think I stayed half an hour this morning without this necktie. At the end of that time, will you kindly return it, as it is the only one I have. Mark Twain."
一天，马克·吐温从斯托夫人那里回来，妻子因为他忘记带领带出门而责备他。
不久，一个送信的人来到了斯托夫人家门口，还带来了一个小包裹，里面装着黑色的领带和一张便条，“这是我的领带，请您拿出来看一看。我想今天早上我在您家停留半小时，没有带领带。等半小时后，能请您归领带吗，因为我仅此一条。马克·吐温。”
1. 文中第一句话，使用了现在分词作状语 ，代替了“Mark Twain returned from a visit with Harriet Beecher Stowe one day, and he was ...”的繁琐表现形式.。 那么如何使用这种句式呢？
现在分词作状语，其逻辑主语一般是句中的主语 。本文中作原因状语，相当于原因状语从句。例如：Being ill , Mary didn't come to school yesterday. 因为玛 丽生病 了，所以她昨天没有去学校。
2. reprimand： n. 谴责；训斥；申诉 vt. 谴责；训斥；责难 （sually by a person in authority.）
3. 第二段中的两个粗体都为倒装： here is ... 是最经典的倒装句，记住这个其他的就都能记住啦~那么如何倒装呢？
以here，there，now，then等地点或时间副词开头的句子,谓语动词是be, come, go, remain等，而主语又是名词时，用全部倒装。注意：如果句子的主语是代词时，则不倒装。如：Here comes the bus! / Here it comes!
将表示地点的介词短语放在句首进行强调时，使用全部倒装。谓语动词常为不及物动词。如： From the window came the sound of music.
看出规律了吗？状语与主语围绕谓语180°大转弯 ，这样你的倒装就完成啦~
